This paper examines the symbolism of magic lamp in Mark Twain's The Adventures Huckleberry Finn (1884) and Kurt Vonnegut's Hal Irwin's Magic Lamp (1957). study, which uses an archetypal approach to texts, demonstrates how American authors use literary source image from Middle Eastern folktale collection Arabian Nights, where essentially represents Aladdin's dream a quick route success. Furthermore, two aim transform this into motif its modern contexts. These works likewise made effort picture as vehicle for issues slavery, racial prejudice, class inequality. Additionally, characters’ desire escape their social economic constraints is, contrary what they anticipate, frustrated because lamp. Moreover, wishes characters both texts restraints are, expectations, thwarted result negative outcome renders function opposite original sources texts.
